I Admire Martin Luther King Jr

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." - Martin Luther King Jr.

On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr gave his famous "I have a Dream" speech it is by far the one speech gave that so many seem to remember or at least the "I have a dream" line anyway. In his speech he called for an end to racism in the United States and called for civil and economic rights, for all.

Born January 15, 1929, in Atlanta GA he was taken from the world too soon, like many of the great men in history on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, TN at what was thought to be the hands of James Earl Ray but in the 90s people would be led to believe there might have been an even bigger conspiracy than just Ray.

Today (Monday, January 16th) across the US we celebrated MLK Jr Day I even got a day off work. (I realize not everyone did) but out of those of you who did, hopefully, you took a minute to think about the man, whose birthday was yesterday (Jan 15th) that we were celebrating as a nation today. He had a dream. and every day that dream is becoming closer to reality, though in recent years sometimes it feels like we are gone backward and the fire-breathing dragon (that is racism) is alive among all racist. We got to remember how far we came, from the days that Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream and shared it with all.
