I Am a Lucid Dreamer

[Long: basic tutorial] If there was one thing i would recommend to everyone, it's work towards having a lucid dream. In lucid dreams, anything is possible. Superpowers, flying through the universe beyond light speed, diving to the ocean depths, teleporting, flying above your city, create your own dimension, (yes, that too). How could you not want to experience this amazing thing?

It's scientifically proven. So it's not like this is some new age thing of crazy story about being psychic or something. It is real. Look up Micho Kaku on BigThink on YouTube, if you'd like to know the German research center that did the test.

In their experiment, they asked a lucid dreamer to clench his right fist while he was dreaming. He did this. The brain scans showed that he had--within his dream--sent the command to clench his fist. Meaning, his frontal lobe was active during the dream.

The frontal lobe, the "you" part of the brain--your conscious, rational mind--is usually switched off during sleep. If your frontal lobe is active during sleep, it means you are awake inside your dream, aware that you are dreaming, thus capable of controlling the dream world.

For any who are interested, there is a lot to lucid dreaming. But dont get discouraged. Learn more and keep practicing. You will obtain quasi-Godhood if you are consistent.

If you'd like to have one, the first step is, well, being able to remember your dreams. Won't do you much good to lucid dream if you can't ever remember it.

In order to do this, there are several techniques. The one I used was telling yourself, "I will remember my dreams," before you fall asleep. Chant it like a mantra, in your mind or out loud.

When you wake up, the very first thing you should be doing is writing down whatever dream you remember. Every time you wake up. There are apps for this, but a journal would work all the same. I find keeping one eye closed helps me remember the dream. Also write as if you are experiencing the dream, at that moment. Not past tense. "I am walking into a room," rather than, "I walked into a room".

I've found it's easier for me to remember dreams if I've slept 1.5-4.5 hours. This is also where most of my lucid dreaming takes place.

Also, before bed, you could read about lucid dreaming or watch YouTube videos talking about it. Get your mind prepped.

The most important thing is reality checks. 5-15 reality checks a day. A reality check is where you're awake, but you check to see if you're actually dreaming. This preps your mind to ask the question when you're dreaming, sparking consciousness inside a dream.

There are all kinds of reality checks, but the two i use is lights and my hands. Lights tend to look weird in dreams. So, 3 times a day, ask yourself, "am i dreaming," then check a light to see if it looks strange. Likewise for hands, though it can be a bit disconcerting. Hands look strange in dreams. So, check your hands and ask the question 5-15 times throughout the day.

Keep doing this and eventually you will have a lucid dream. It takes some work, for sure. But all the great things in life do. And this. This is one of the best things in life. The ability to do things you never dreamt possible. To be anything. To do anything. For the profoundness of the experience, the amount of work is ridiculously small.

The app "Awoken" is really helpful for reminding you to determine whether or not you're dreaming; it also has a dream journal.

Here is an invaluable resource. Watching this guys videos is what made me have my first lucid dream.

Good luck dreamers. I'm off to the astral plane.

I do know it is real as I've experienced a few times, though it just sorta happened.. thanks for the tips. I do think the spiritual world is real though due to certain experiences and whatnot. It's some weird stuff...

Thanks. Will try it.

@ColdPenguin: I used to be able to do it as a teenager for a while. Have been interested in trying again for quite some time, I will investigate further. Thanks for the informative post.

@SwanSongRebeL: Np. ☺ It really is such an amazing thing. Shame most people don't really know about it. Realizing any fantasy is just too good to pass up, so I like spreading the word like, "You dont know what you're missing!" 😁

@ColdPenguin: Nothing wrong with that. I'll let you know of any progress I've made.
