I Believe In God, Jesus The Saviour And The Holy Spirit

Those biblical characters are no more real than Harry Potter or James Bond. In pre-Victorian Times religions were perpetuated by the ruling classes to keep the peasants in order, and to an extent it worked. It is frightening and embarrassing and a condemnation of our education system that today some simple minded people are gullible enough to take religions seriously. All religions should be confined to history book, they have caused so much hatred and bloodshed, consider Ireland, the Middle East and the MMM (Mad Muslim Murderers)

Fair point, and Sirkumcised's tone is a bit abrasive, but if everyone stuck to mere mutual support no-one would read alternative views or debate them. This is an important point that's been expressed widely about people who claim to find their daily news only via Facebook and the like.

Their readers might not agree with those opinions, but might at least understand those views or why they are held.

For the record I am agnostic from an Anglican background, but I think the people who wrote the Bible were real - the Bible is only reporting their society's beliefs and lore.

Agreed. Wrong heading. Some people are genuinely looking for answers. I see no issue with it. I happen to be a Christian and don't care if anyone likes it. Similarly, I don't have an issue with different or non-belief. We have to live together.
