I Have a Memory to Share

This is a little random but I remember back in early elementary school the teachers told female students that if we held hands with boys we'd get pregnant. I also remember the Bishop of my dads church telling us that being alone with any guy outside of family is considered a date and we're not allowed to date till we're sixteen. My best friend at the time was a dude and he and I would regularly sleep in the same bed, sleeping bag, couch, under the same blanket on the floor, whatever the case may be. And of course I was well aware that I wasn't pregnant or dating him.

I don't think I ever said it out loud but I remember often looking at these adults and thinking.. "what idiots you lot are" xD
