Are you afraid of the darkness?

I feel a darkness upon me, darker still when I open my eyes. There are flickers of light fading in & out of existence, but darkness remains, still & quiet.

I've never been afraid of the literal darkness. But I am afraid of a darkness of spirit that has overtaken me recently. Before, I could always summon a glimmer of hope, no matter what. But it takes much more effort to find now. 😐

I empathize, I used to be full of hope, defined by it, but now I fight to not be overwhelmed by the world, hope is even harder.
