Does it matter if I have followers?

How can I make this site more than just a notepad? Where can I ask a serious question and someone gives a sincere answer? I want to know my way around this website, and would like any help or tips towards more insight. I'm out to branch out and explore similar worlds, now that I have a new perspective.
