Why do I keep having this dream?

In the dream I am in trouble with the police (or sometimes it's the FBI) but I haven't done anything wrong. Sometimes they are hunting for me but I slip away from them and flee. In the dream, I know I haven't broken the law but I am still scared. Sometimes I have been arrested or just taken into custody and I am terrified. The police talk tough to me like I'm a criminal and I am too scared to think straight or know what to do. I wake up feeling sure I will be arrested shortly and that I will be treated so roughly it will kill me. I have to talk myself back into sanity because, in my real life, I live quietly within the law, and I have no reason to fear the police. I don't even get parking tickets!

sounds like a movie script...have you seen a movie where someone is escaping someone else or authority?

No, can't afford movies lately, haven't been in about three years, don't have a TV. Sometimes the dialogue or words I hear the police speaking remind me of the radio program Boston Blackie from the 1940s when I was a little kid.

I was talking with two women at one point and quite suddenly they were both going to visit me within the same time frame...it was just friendship on both accounts but I obviously felt troubled....I had this very erotic dream whereby I had two women in my bed....they talked incessantly to each other while we all performed amazing acts of carnal pleasure... I say this only because the power of the mind is really intense sometimes

Neither lady did visit in the end so it was all a wasted emotion ...but the dream was quite incredible

I have a strong feelings that it's a message for you to be aware of something, not sure... sometimes dreams could have meanings...

How long have you been having this particular dream sequence. If I it is a recent development that is one thing. If you have had dreams like this for a long time that is another thing. The difference is evolution.

I've dreamed it off and on for about a year. I thought it had stopped because I hadn't had it in a couple of months but I just woke up from it again. Seems to get worse when I am not well.

There could be a trigger that started it. There could also be some internal issue that you either had a hard time dealing with or have been putting off dealing with. The fact that you remember it so vividly I think points to that.

If your picture is not up on the post office wall you might be warching to many crime shows

About living in the states...I'm in a fairly crime free area.

Was just thinking it could be something to do with trump and his negativity @greenmountaingal:

@Jenandra: Actually, because of living through the red scare of the 1950s as a red diaper baby, I do fear a change of administrations, always have, whoever is coming into office. It's hardly realistic to suppose that any administration would be interested in harassing a 71 year old woman over something her mother did decades ago....but The subconscious mind is not rational. I am not so much worried about Trump as president as I am about the country dissolving into Civil War II, the ultimate American nightmare, before he can be inaugerated or during his inauguration. There has been a lot of unrest and disturbing incidents on all sides. However, I did start having police dreams almost a year ago. The dreams had almost stopped. I guess it's possible the election and it's disturbing aftermath may have increased my anxiety.

It might mean you need to calm down your Reckless actions and control your desires

I'm leading a very sane quiet life. Chores, rest, reading, a little gardening, church on Sunday...nothing wild.
Do you fear loss of control or freedom? Great post by the way

Yes. I am old now, have been sick for over a year off and on with a series of infections the cause of which is not diagnosed yet. I fear being railroaded into a nursing home or limited existence. I am gradually getting better, my medical care has improved (new and better doctor) but I still have "bad days" in which I fear life will close in on me and I'll wind up in a home.
Homes ........ :(
