What 3 things would you advise young people?

For me;
1. Question authority

2. In difficult situations, take the time to take the emotion out of it and weigh the problem objectively.

3. Dare to take a risk and grab the ring of opportunity.

1. Don't lie. Even when you are wrong in something, tell the truth. Liars become nothing because their word is NOTHING.
2. Do not live in fear. Live with courage and be brave.
3. Listen. Become a good listener, and people will respect you for it. Listeners learn, they learn to see through the b.s. And they learn how to reason. Listen and learn a lot. Through people, through friends, and even through those who are not friends. Learn and listen to voices who agree with you, and especially to those who do not. As a listener, and not a follower, you develop skills to see through the fog, and recognize that what makes no sense is nonsense, and you also learn that many people are are like little birds, attracted to the shiny objects, the noise, and the glitter. If you perfect the skill of listening, learning, questioning, you won't be that follower tempted to follow reality tv stars wherever they wish to take us.
WOW! that was beautifully said. You are wise beyond your years.

@Coyotedave611: thank you so much. And thank you for the Best Answer. I sometimes forget this site has this feature.

1) Get out of your shell and take risks, we both agree in this point but its the one less followed by many so it has to be said

2) Don't stress, take things one step at a time, most people freak out with small stuff that could be fixed when approached calmly

3) Always hide your clothes when skinny dipping, college problems yo
I especially like #2 on your list. As someone once said, "Just do the thing in front of you, all else will follow.

Very true, I have seen small problems explode because people don't take the time to step back think and approach
@Raver4ever: This is one point I've had to struggle with in my life, e.g. the lost wallet that always caused me to go into a tailspin. (always eventually found) Someone told me, sit back and consider, what is the very worst that could happen?...usually not much.

Your advice sounds quite good especially the second one. However I would add something to the first. I would say question authority including the authority who told you to question authority.
LOL, good point.😜

Do not get a credit card, listen carefully to what you are not hearing, take a job that makes you happy
Great advice Ned, all three are important. #2. is especially sage advice. Thank you for that.
