Why do people ask stupid questions?

Stupid questions are better than none. You don't have to respond.

Knowing the answer doesn't really make the question stupid. Some people ask questions because they want to see how others would react to it or to gain a different perspective. It's not the asker who gives value to the question, it's the perception of the receiver.

Well, we have to keep it lightweight around here sometimes, otherwise we'd be talking politics and religion all day.

Everyone is a newbie in one point of their lives.

So just let them be stupid and question and learn.

Talking about how stupid someone is doesn't make the person any smarter.

They ask simply to get responses coz get connected and communicate is the objective of such social sites.
Quora is one of the brilliant sites to share intellect and grasp divergent opinions.

Better than the ones who spit their dummies out when you answer their dull questions.
