I've always heard young Earth creatonists believe the world is 6000 years old.

But why that number?

Bishop Berkeley, back in the ?17th century? (I forget, exactly), went through the bible, counting the generations (all those begats), and calculated that the world was created in 4004 BC, hence 6000 years old. I tried going through his calculations once & thought he'd made some pretty odd assumptions, rolled into it.

Kaljug (dark age) started roughly between 5,500-6,000 years ago from now. B4 it was Bronze age that lasted like a million years. B4 that was Silver n 1st age was Satjug (Golden age).

This age predicted AND as written in Hindu Holy scriptures, "Kalyug is where cows will be treated like goats, people will create kids out of wed lock and God will be forgotten."

Something to think about. All this can b researched on Google. Just type 4 ages in Hindu religion/ Satyug etc.
