I used to be a telemarketer and people would always yell at me. I was working for the district's electric grid and was actually giving people installations for a more efficient A/C system so that they get the same results but save money....and I got this same reply you gave for no reason 0_0

Do what I do. My answering machine answers all the time. The phone rings. It picks up and says "You have reached the ___ residence home of ___and ___. We are screening out unwanted solicitation calls. If you are a friend or acquaintance state your name and if we are available we will answer after we hear the name." Telemarketers never get through and it is surprising how many hangups I get.
