Do you believe that Christmas Day really wasnt when Christ was born?

Historians say it wasn't. Christmas is originally a pagan holiday. They just put their religion into the pagan place to make it OK to celebrate.

He was supposedly born in the spring. Christmas was invented to compete with the solstice Saturnalia festival. One of those "you're either with us or against us" things religions are so good at.

CallmeHopeless and Sharon4now are correct based on what I have studied about it. The Winter Solstice (shortest day of the year) on or around December 21 was a pagan celebration for the Sun God. Celebrating that the days would get longer and the Sun God would return.

Based on astronomers' research into the night sky at the time of Christ's birth and the great star, they place the birth sometime in the Spring.

The early Church moved Christmas to December 25 to provide a Christian holiday that would draw people away from the Sun God celebrations that were popular at the time.
I like the story but I dont believe it is accurate

No, it's a commemorative day, just like The Queen has an official birthday, and then the day upon which she was born. Christmas is more like official day, and was organized in a way that would be familiar to early Christians, using some of the old pagan calendar.

no one knows the day but it is generally presumed to be in the spring or near

February or March is what most everyone agrees on.
