Some middle age man said the girl should have broken up with her boyfriend 3 years ago if it takes THAT long to propose. Is he right? Some people said "It's about time!"
"Finally! Lets celebrate!
No amount of time is too long.
It all depends on the individuals involved. Not everyone has to get married and it is possible to have a loving, meaningful relationship without marriage.

Real life isn't the movies. Proposals shouldn't be a surprise. Both people involved should know a proposal is expected. If one individual is expecting a proposal and there has been no previous conversation about marriage, he/she will likely be disappointed.
But the man said she should have broken up with the guy 3 years ago if it takes that long
If you're with someone for 9 years and there was no conversation about marriage, its likely not going to happen.

If marriage is something you want, and years have gone by without conversation about marriage, you'd better start that conversation.

Is this girl just sitting around and waiting for her man to propose? Does she expect it as inevitable? If the answer to both of those questions is NO, then this middle age man should mind his own fuckin business.

Hell, this middle aged man should mind his own fuckin business anyway.
@Ax17x7: well she isn't in a hurry for marriage. And yes the middle age man should fuck off
