Does taking too much vitamin b12 negativley impact your health?

I take 500 mcg for energy. Is this bad for me?
Sublingual Vitamin B-12 is the way to go. It gets absorbed into your body faster and better than taking the B-Complex capsules, but you need them, too. The sublinguals melt under your tongue. I get the ones from Walmart, cherry flavor and they are delicious and give me the energy I need, and are excellent for depression. I pop three under my tongue any time I feel I need them, and have for years, with NO bad side effects ever. My family does the same.

Herbal Sublingual Vitamin B-12
Don't listen to naysayers below. Why is a lack of B12 of such concern? In the short term, insufficient B12 levels can lead to deep fatigue, mood changes, and dementia-like qualities, preventing you from feeling your best and performing at your highest energy level. In the long term, an unchecked vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to permanent nerve damage, which is why it’s important to catch it early.

Symptoms of B12 Deficiency

Overall lack of energy

Unusual mood changes

Difficulty concentrating or remembering things

Tingling or numbness in hands or feet

Inflamed, red, cracked tongue

I have an auto-immune problem. Struggle with fatigue. When I take these, let me tell you...I can tell the difference! You'll love them! Must be the sublingual along with a good B-Complex.

@JustaFriend: I've been having to take B12 injections from age 5 when it was detected that I had no intrinsic factor in my stomach that processes the B12 into the blood stream .
I'm sorry to hear that, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work for others.

@JustaFriend: Well My point is one cannot over dose on B12 as the body only uses that which it needs and the rest goes out as waste . Per his Primary question

500mcg is okay. Besides, it's a water-soluble vitamin. Excess will be easily excreted in the urine ☺
A friend of mine at church was just dragging. I told her she was low on her B Vitamins. She looked a little skeptical. Came back the next Sunday and said, "You know, my doctor told me the same thing!" I rest my case.

I read that your body doesn't really absorb it unless intravenously or in food sources.

It's Highest in the content of raw Liver .

Nope , Your Body will only take in as much as it needs to keep your central nervous system in good repair and the rest goes out as waist via bladder or rectum . All it does is repair your nerves and that's it .

If your b12 level is normal taking extra won't boost your energy

But it wont hurt me?

@purecrazy93: I don't know taking too much of any vitamin can cause problems. The point is your body doesn't work like that, unless you have low levels of b12 you are just wasting your money. Far better to make sure b12 is in your diet, plenty of stuff like Engevita (yeast flakes) that you can enjoy and sprinkle on food.
Certain vitamins make our eyesight strong but having tons of them won't give us x-ray eyes
