I really miss my husband. :(

anyone had a loved one go away for addiction treatment?
I feel so alone.

My granddaughter had to go away for 23 days for treatment, and then when she got home, she did N.A. At least once each day, sometime even 2 or 3 times. It was a rough time for us, and her children, who were in foster care. It took two years, but she got them back and she has been clean and sober for three years now. She still has cravings at times, so she attends a few meetings. Reminds herself what she has fought so hard to get back and keep. Her children are very proud of her and supportive when she expresses a need to go to meetings. So am I.

@Starkizzed21: thank you. I used to go to meetings with her occasionally when they were having an open meeting or someone was getting their one year chip. It help for me to attend, and see the strengths and weaknesses of the people. It showed me how truly hard it is for them, and how strong she is.
"The more we learn about others the better we understand ourselves." She has someone, in her life, that loves her. Talking about this, because we understand, helps us as well as others who need to know that they are not alone. Thank you for posting. 8)

@Serenitree: I used to go with my mom. It hurts incredibly how addicts are viewed as lesser people, as if they can just stop and make different choices, and it all goes away. Noooo.... stopping leaves a hurricane of emotions and physical symptoms and to be dismissed when you reach out for help is just ignorant of love and empathy for your fellow human being.
There are many kinds of addictions. It's not just drugs. Addicts come from all walks of life. They are all someone's child, and they are brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, friends, coworkers, and this is what people forget.

When you reach the bottom, the only place left to go is up. Even if you're crawling, you still move forward.

Thank you all you guys for chatting with me. :) it really helped. Especially you serenitree!
