@MasterLee: Are you incapable of acknowledging facts? How difficult is it, for someone, in 2017, to acknowledge that the Republican party of 1860, is not the Republican party of 2017, and that the Democratic Party of 1860 is not the same as the Democratic Part of 2017? I guess denying reality is easier for you.
I dunno. They were pretty pissed in the early 2000s when the Republicans decided to go to war based on lies (sorry, "alternate facts" I think they're called now). I think it's cute the Republicans have had to start going back a couple of hundred years to feel righteous.
@Livingwell: The south were majority democrats. The civil war, among other reasons, was about the spread of slavery which the south used predominantly.
