I Ask Random Questions

How do you handle political disagreements?
Do you try fiercely to prove that you are right and the others are wrong?
Or
You just express your opinion and move on?
I avoid them. I'm not looking to change any opinion and they sure aren't going to change mine.
Omg if they don't already know how right I am they are just too dumb to talk to.. I cba to have arguments.. Pfft
Haha :)

They say the three things you should never try and discuss in polite company are politics; family and religion !
Which is probably very true since any or all are likely to be confrontational once you feel you have to defend your view !

I try to avoid them. It all comes down to personal opinion, so there's no right or wrong.

It is contingent on the argument of the opposite party.
It can be very similar to a chess game in how you handle you position.

If all is easy with reasonable arguments then move on.

If the opposite party presents falsehoods and the truth is critical then it is "flame on"!

I usually avoid speaking of politics with anyone because no matter how strongly I feel about my views everyone else has their own opinions that they feel and have a right to feel. So what is the point to voice opppsing views and get worked up over?

I have nothing to prove. I'm not running for office. I have opinions. I state them. At times people challenge me to prove that I'm right. I don't bother. I'm merely expressing my own personal feelings on a subject.

Wars have always been attributed to politics, religion, or money. So let's not go there. ✌🏼️

If I feel I am being listened to and my views are treated as valid then I can handle someone ultimately deciding they don't completely agree with me. If that is not present and I feel like I am talking to a wall then I will eventually just stop talking with that person:

I'll continue to correct anybody's misconceptions even when they defiantly insist black is white until I get tired. If it's a difference of opinion I can leave it, as stated above people rarely change an opinion, even if they realise they are wrong they won't accept it publicly.

I don't Argue with people. Just because somebody is right doesn't mean it plays out in reality. Ill start my opinion and leave it as that.

I avoid them as much as I can. I know that I'll never change anyone's mind.
JustEd · 41-45, M
Move on. Most of the time the others opinion isn't going to be changed

I just fiercely disagree
Express my opinion, and then move on.
Not well lately. I have very strong feelings about it.

negotiated around them. political disagreements are bad business.

I tend to move along and avoid prolonged discussions. I have rarely, if ever, changed anyone's mind about politics and I don't have time to waste on pointless arguments.
