I Write Mediocre Poetry

To understand, to be understood,
If I only knew, if I only could, I really would,

It is hard to understand somebody who withdraws and becomes hidden away,
It is just so frustrating from day to day,
But I also do know that feeling myself I must say,

Sheltering emotions and feelings from the storm,
For a bunch of us it can be quite the norm,

Navigating tumultuous waters alone on a raft can be quite a trick,
It often leaves one alone, cold and deftly sick,

To reach out to another and ask for help can be quite awkward at times,
Some people hate feeling vulnerable, but I tell you it is no crime,

Walking alone and shutting the world out is never the answer,
It is really no fun when we become the only dancer,

Walking down the line without anybody to lean on or to even speak with can be very unfair,
We all have to learn to reach out and sometimes show we care,

I was never a person who ever tried to keep score,
It is not for me to judge another soul and whose travelled shoes I never wore,

Just here if you need me, you know where I can be found,
I just hate hearing the silence, the cold and deafening sound,

Be well my friend and I hope you find your way,
For each and every soul can relate to struggle each and every day,

God bless you, stay safe and true to your heart and soul,
For I know God will watch over you always and make you whole,

As the days pass quickly by, just asking myself and never knowing why,
There were never any binds which tied, so I often wonder why you hide,

I just wish time would slow down and stop taking its toll,
Left to run alone now amongst the Winter's harsh wind and bone chilling cold,

The snow now drifts and I continue by myself toward my endless uphill climb,
Just left with pieces of memories that bring me back to another place, another space and another time,
But still there is nobody to walk with in my imperfect rhyme, once again I walk alone straight down the line...

Does it ever end? Have you ever met someone?
