I learned not to try and sever the bond between mother and daughter. My case was probably more severe though, and everyone is different. Some apples fall and roll away from the tree eventually. I hope for your sake, the apple in question does not bruise badly when and if she falls, and that she rolls just far enough to be o.k. :)

it's a long personal dramatic story that I don't care to bore you with, but suffice it to say, the relationship was doomed from the start. I was just too "in love"? to see it. I thought once I got the daughter away from the insanity that was her home life up until the time I met her, that she could recover from it and lead a stable life of her own. Blew up in my face! She turned on me faster than you could say "daddy issues" and went running back to mama.......where she stays til this very day.....never fully cutting the apron string? To say the very least. Anyhoo.....that's my weird little tale, and I'm positive your situation is nothing at all like mine was.

I had one of those once. In my case, the gf turned out to be just as terrifying as the mom. The nut didn't fall far from the bush, but that was my story, and yours I'm sure has a much happier ending. :)

That was ages ago, and I since met the woman I would marry and settle down with. Mrs. Diggler and I get along swimmingly well, and have two beautiful little girls. I couldn't be happier. Well....I suppose there's no cap on happiness, but I'm satisfied. :)

GF is okay but her mom is way too commanding.. And her daughter supports her during that time.
