The Detroit Redwings are in 2nd to last place in their division, barely out of last place ahead of the Buffalo Sabers by one point.

@senpie: Not really. They had a team full of geriatric Mongoloids that managed to not completely suck for a good stretch of time. Making the playoffs does not mean a team is good. More than half of the entire league goes to the playoffs each year. And, if the other teams in your division suck, you have no competition and you can go to the playoffs even if you're lousy.

@KiwiDan: Detroit fans live in the past. Forty years ago, their team was considered top notch. That hasn't been the case for a very long time now, but it doesn't stop Redwings fans from braying like a jackass that they're "the modern day dynasty" even though they haven't come even close to a championship in a decade now, they consistently get eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, and this year, they're not even going to the playoffs at all with their abysmally bad record so far.
