Do people who have been horribly abused as children resent those who had good childhoods?

FreshAirLover · 26-30, M
I'd understand if they did, especially when those with good childhoods complain about minor things, such as how their parents didn't buy them some expensive luxury item or let them stay up or out past a certain time.

Some people's parents were abusive. Some may have lost their parents, or never met theirs to begin with. It's easy to feel frustration towards those who seem to take things for granted that other people never even had the chance to truly experience.
no i dont, it sucks sometimes...but resenting someone else doesnt make it any better

I don't unless it starts affecting me somehow, like they rub it in intentionally.

theres nearly always a deep rooted resentment. even if they don't admit it.. same as poor people resent wealthy people..

I think that all depends on their attitudes, some people do resent others who have had an easy childhood, I've always wondered what it would have been like to have lived a "Leave it to Beaver" lifestyle, grow up in one town and have the same friends and all of that and not have to deal with family. I don't resent anyone for having a good life.
