Something practical or something sexy...But it depends on the guy! If he really appreciates kind words, you could write him a nice note listing the things you admire about him. If he's more practical, you could get him something in line with his hobbies. A nice smooching session prolly wouldn't hurt either ;)

When I had a girl who I cared about more than anything else in my life, the only Valentine's Day gift I wanted from her is to have her be with me all the time. I didn't even care what it was.

If I was sleeping in that day, having her cuddle me until I wake up made my day.
If I was hungry, her making me what I loved without having to ask.
If I was tired and didn't want to do anything but watch TV, having her with me by my side all day made it all the more worthwhile.

But more importantly, her telling me she loved me was all that I needed.
