What do you do?

Say two different groups got together to start a community right? At first everything is great, they see the value different perspectives can give, sure they don't agree completely on everything, but they find ways where both can be content, dealing with the different wants & needs of one another. Later, introduce new individuals to the group, each unique, but often partial to one side or another, some of these the community becomes larger, less personal, & individuals start to focus more & more on the differences between the groups, seeing fit now to speak with more dissent & openly grievous about their side of the compromise, the other group response in defense of itself, frustrated by the lack of understanding & patience from some people of the other group, now let this continue for many years, let more from both sides begin to speak increasingly more aggressively & oppositionally. Now let both sides have children, born into a conflict not their own, unknowing of the peace that existed before, and ingrained now with a new fear of having individual thought, for fear of being opposed by one group or the other & not being heard by either. Now continue to further the division between the groups.

Whoops.

What do you do now? What can you do?

War can be a product of many things, dissent like this is certainly one way.
