Many on here have stories complaining about rude messages they receive, yet send a nice message to them and next to none of them will reply?

What is this?

@faefairy: Gosh yes. Just today I commented my dislike for Youtuber PewDiePie on a video and I had multiple butt hurt people hiding behind avatars telling me that I am a retarded troll. Do they have a life or is there life based around being so unconfident that they hide online and behind avatars putting all their effort and confidence into a youtuber in place of themselves and get offended at any criticism of their idols?

@faefairy: I despise him, as a kid, and now, I look up to scientists, and now people look up to a guy acting years below his age make stupid noises, and think that him "playing a bit of guitar" makes him a musician. I have done classical piano university training and it annoys me seeing what passes as talent.
[c=#BF0080]I always reply with at least a thank you if someone sends me a pm complimenting me.[/c]

It is easier to complain than to reach out to another.
Nefarious · 26-30, M
A good rule of thumb is not to message people who complain a lot lol.
Serenitree · F
It really depends on the *nice* message. What do you consider nice, for example?

Everyone here gets: "Hey! How are you? What brings you to Similar Worlds?" When I greet them
Benny5678 · 41-45, T
@pianoplayingsteve: I was close
Serenitree · F
@J---K-: they get deleted and no reply. It feels just like those who post in q&a I'm bored, somebody talk to me. No thanks. I already spent a lot of years entertaining the kids I raised, and those I babysat, too. I like conversation, but I don't want to be forced to try to start one. Those one word greetings are either manipulative or lame.

@SarahD: Well, at least it's not you giving me attitude ;)
Serenitree · F
@pianoplayingsteve: if that's how you start, then I'd say yes. It warrants some response. I rarely send the first pm, and when I do, it's for a very specific reason, usually to do with something we talked about in the public forum. I don't care for cold calls. They are rarely fruitful.

Nice messages are a precursor to dick pics

best place to meet a girl is in person.

What's you nice message consist of.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@Serenitree: I very quickly point out that I am a piano teacher and paramedic, and ask them what they do.
Justpeaceandlove · 61-69, F
@pianoplayingsteve: maybe you are sending them to the wrong people. Take it as a good thing. I think you will get the right one to message you back.
Serenitree · F
@pianoplayingsteve: that's a good thing. And as justpeaceandlove says, finding the right people to chat with helps. Not everyone wants to pm . A willingness to answer questions as well as ask them is a great way to go.

Benny5678 · 41-45, T

ReaperofTime · 46-50, M
@J---K-: nope because I am not some egotistical chest thumping moron like others seem to be.
Benny5678 · 41-45, T
@ReaperofTime: That's what they all say
