Do you think a national identity is important?

I kinda do.. My forefathers fought and died for it.. Seem a shame to watch it slip away from somebody else's idea of multiculturalism and globalism open boarder cooking pots..
But I'm just a racist. What would I know.. 🤔
I'm white.. Nationality don't matter
@theoneyouwerewarnedabout: You see I am asking about nationality not race. This is an important because we can have a national identity that is independent of race.

I think a national identity consists of taking pride in your country and seeing as your duty to help build it up. I think it consists of enjoying and partaking in events and practices that are common within your country. I think it includes taking hold of your countries history and the things that make you a member of that country.

@theoneyouwerewarnedabout: Wait... You said nationality is important and your forefathers fought for it, and then you said, [c=#003BB2]"Nationality don't matter"[/c]??? Which is it?

It's only one world and one race ! there should be no borders anywhere at all. 😄
@grandaddypurple: Did you find other sources you thought were more reliable? You seem to believe pretty strongly.

@mar3sword: knowledge of the forever time vids are really cool to watch. You'll like them if you check them out. The first one is about the pyramids and the astrology connected to it. I'll have to look some other things up for you later if you don't mind. Check those out they are really interesting. I didn't mean to sound so negative about them. If you decide to watch them you'll understand what I mean. Check them out it all makes sense when you think about it.
@grandaddypurple: I started watching the Forever time. I'll perhaps finish the first episode tomorrow.

Yes. Funny how most countries outside the West are 'allowed' to have one, or/also culturally, but we are shamed into accepting a generic self genocidal 'common values' identity. People with a strong sense of national identity are harder for an internationalist enemy to control.

I think in today's world we still need nation-states and borders and, yes, nationalities. But I'd like to see a world in my lifetime where we each remain proud of and celebrate our cultural heritages, but simply consider ourselves to be human.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@mar3sword: And as all the cultures of humanity continue to blend, and economies equalize and stabilize, national borders will someday seem like a relic of a bygone era. We will celebrate our heritage(s) without feeling animosity to others.

But for now, we need nations and borders and national identities.
@sarabee1995: A good dream

@mar3sword: Not the first time I've been called a dreamer. Probably not the last either. 😊

I think all ppl should openly support their individual nation, while holding pride of their unique ethnicity and ideals... so long as they don't include killing others of the same or different nation for any cause. That's my pax romana, but the reality is far different than ideal.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
In reality, not really, no. But it can be fun to be proud of your country I guess.
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
Not to me.
What nationality are you?
NigelDoes · 56-60, M
American.
Possibly more so for those who can't take it for granted.
Take it for granted? Like immigrants?
@mar3sword: For example. Or refugees.
