The wall will probably benefit Mexico more than it benefits the US. Drug gangs have turned the Rio Grande into a no-mans-land that everyone wants to pass through as fast as they can, if at all.
Poor Mexicans cluster along the border waiting for a chance to cross, while ruthless smugglers exploit them.
I would think that Mexico would be happy to pay for that wall.
