I find that lines have a rhythm to them and it's as much about remembering the rhythm as it is the lines. once you kind of get into the pattenr of the speech, it can come back easier.
And lots and lots and lots of just rote practice.

I have never noticed lines having a rhythm, guess I'll have to look for that.

It's hard to explain. Watch some videos of some good theatre and you'll notice a kind of cadence to how people speak.
