Could you lay in bed thinking OR daydreaming for hours on end?

Sure, if the mood strikes me. I have sat in a room watching the slant of sunlight from the window cross the floor. Stood in awe of a particular cloudy sky. I could die and never have left.

Happens most nights when I go to bed to try and sleep -- and end up with my mind coming awake for hours on hours.

for a while. not likely hours. I'd either sleep or need to get up and do something useful.
