"I love romantic books even though I never read them"

You think it's possible or coherent? Just wondering...

Some people are enamored with the idea of romance more than the reality of it, but this statement could be as simple as not having time. If that's what you were asking...

I worked with a woman who was probably didn't have a romantic moment ever with her husband (he would tell her every morning at the breakfast table "you're so ugly I don't know why I ever married you."....and all she read was romance novels, she always bought new ones and had one with her for break and lunch.

@cherokeepatti: some people take comfort from the dream of it I think. Maybe that was her hope. I have a good many romance novels - they were my favorite when younger. I don't get from them now what I used to.

I think they like the pretty romantic pictures on the front of the books is what they are saying.

Haha, I wish it was what they meant

@MrMarcus: or maybe they are hoping the books will be made into movies, so they don't have to read them.

Sometimes feelings are sufficient, but it does seem an odd sentence.

I agree, actually somebody said it. The only difference is that they said they loved scientific essays (even though they have never read any of them).
my favorite movie was that one i never saw.
