Do you have questions about evolution?

Christians, atheists, agnostics.

If you have a question about the Theory of Evolution then i would be happy to answer it to the best of my ability

Not that I don't acknowledge life on earth has indeed evolved, but how does one explain the human soul? Not trying to put you on the spot, but I've always wondered at what point in our evolution did we acquire our spirits? Were they always a facet of man, or did our ancestors have to attain a certain level of intellect? Way over my head........

Well i guess you're pre-supposing that there is such a thing as a soul. As in an immortal or spiritual aspect to your humanity that exists beyond the body.

Can't say i believe there is such a thing.

Do you have a reason beyond religious teaching to think that humans have a soul?

Yes, I think it's the foundation of our personalities; our very being! I certainly couldn't comprehend just existing as an electronically-controlled lump of cells that happened along one day in July! 🍳

Personally, I think there's more to our existence than this physical trapping. Why would we be conscious of our significance in such an infinite universe? What lies in store is, again, far beyond my grasp, but believing in whatever it is that connects us to the realm is a satisfying belief indeed!

@Milkweed:

Yeah i just see it as adaptive behavior and bi products of a complex brain that evolved to succeed in a complex and social environment.

It's a pretty straight forward theory.

I have no questions :D

i think because they see evolution as a replacement for god and that it must therefor explain how life came to be

Where did the first cell came from?

Well there's a bunch of research on inorganic molecules forming organic molecules and amino acids but that's not really the purview of evolution.
