How can you be a christian and still accept evolution? [Spirituality & Religion]

If evolution is real then there was no adam and eve.
If there was no adam and eve then there was no fall from grace.
If there was no fall from grace then there is no reason for the suffering experienced by people around the world.
There's no reason for jesus to exist at all since his purpose was to bring us salvation after the fall.

Discuss.

This would mean you believe JC existed, but things didn't go down like how they did in the bible.
SW-User
@UnparalleledMonster: the bible was written by men. We all know mankind spews all kinds of bullshit. One can believe JC existed, but that things didn't occur exactly as the bible states.

@SarcasmQueen:

Well not really. Not in any meaningful way. Maybe jesus was a man who existed but if humans never fell then there can be no salvation. And then what is the point of jesus in a christian context?
SW-User
@UnparalleledMonster: I don't pretend to have all the answers bro. Truthfully, I think God is a being, entity, him, her, them, it, whatever. I think religion is just different paths we all take (or not) to get to the same ultimate place, entity, him, her, it, them, us. So call the "entity" Allah, Jesus, Buddha or Bill. All different names for the same thing. Pathways we take based on beliefs, upbringing, comfort level etc. Common theme is love, be loving, caring, respectful.
i do.. i just spin around and say shit like.. god gave us science.. or god invented evolution.. ;D

@theoneyouwerewarnedabout:

Sure. But that's not really the topic here.
Please re-read the original question and elaboration
@UnparalleledMonster: i read it just fine..

you choose to believe what ever the hell you like. i wont argue..

...but you didn't address the actual subject of the question.
If evolution is real then the entire basis for christianity is false.
Why are you even in this thread if you don't want to discuss it?
HeWhoLaughs · 26-30, M
because i believe evolution happened on a smaller scale, as i follow creationist science.
@deonboy89: [c=#BF0080]He likes to mind f*ck people lol.[/c]
HeWhoLaughs · 26-30, M
@PinkRainbowBliss: that explains alot. yeah unfortunately im a bit slow to stuff like that , joys of being slightly autistic LOL
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@deonboy89:

You don't have to admit you're wrong. Almost nobody ever does lol.
Like i said, i was looking for you to back up your ideas.
But if you're trying to learn how to debate better then you can't get so discouraged when someone challenges you.

creationism and evolution both suck, we need to learn fantasticbichinism.

@Dolimyte: You must go through five test to prove you're worthy.

Jake966 · 56-60, M
AMEN! Remember evolution is a theory
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@Jake966: if man was created is his image, why do people all look so different? Shouldnt we all look alike. We dont because when primative man spread across the globe they evolved differently due to being in varied enviroments.
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@Jake966:

Of course you do, champ.
But it's time for you to go. The grown ups are talking.
Jake966 · 56-60, M
@UnparalleledMonster: Really ! Check your age to mine boy ! LOL So I guess it's time for you to go
mic11225 · 26-30, M
I do find it amusing that people pick and chose what to believe in the bible. Rest assured though, there are people who simply don't believe in evolution. Like I have a friend who is a die hard christian and he can't bring himself to accept evolution, you could bring him definitive proof and he'd still deny it because he needs his religion. He's a smart guy but believing in religion isn't about logic and facts. It's about feelings.
SW-User
That's why Christians must necessarily be opposed to modern science. It's an approach that tries to frame reality around a mythology.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
You can be christian and still put your trust in science. It doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me, but not all christians are creationists. In fact id say the majority of christians arnt creationists. Its mostly an american thing
HeWhoLaughs · 26-30, M
so your saying that in your opinion, creationism science is crap? i can respect that, obviously i cant say science explains everything god does, but i dont wanna understand everything, i just enjoy trying to theorise around the few things i can
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@deonboy89: you sound open minded, thats good. And youre right, science does not have all the answers
HeWhoLaughs · 26-30, M
i have seen aspects of evolution deep within history, the way humans have evolved since begginnign times and also animals/ animal breeds (since its said god made man, and dog, not american , italian, husky and hound) . as i see it, every fantasy, and lie (lie sounds assholish, but you get what i mean) has an element of truth to it, like stories of dragons or giants had to have come from some where right?
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
How can you be religious without brain damage
Goralski · 51-55, M
Hmmmmmmm so according to Darwin which race is d more evolved??
SW-User
Teh whites ;)
Goralski · 51-55, M
@RileyPancake: Hmmmmmmm I kinda like evolution
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
Probably white europeans. That's what he was so i expect that's what he would pick. No one is immune to bias lol
