Marine Le Pen calls the EU "totalitarian" and vows to have France leave and reverse its bureaucracy

Prediction: EU crumbles in 2018. Germany, pulling the weight of the other European nations alone after France's and Britain's departure, has a huge push to leave from the populace in fear that they'll face an utterly crippled economy.

Marina Le Pen is under police investigation for fraud, she won't be around long

Lol! Source?
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@Invisible: Google it.
Invisible · 26-30, M
@pezzza: I did, but I figured I would have the opposition to my ideas give me their most believable source so not to inadvertently straw-man

Another prediction : Marine Le Pen does not become President , is found guilty of fraud and embezzlement and is forced to retire from political life in disgrace.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
@peeeeeezzzzzzaaaa. You've confused Ms LePen with Mrs Clinton.

She is quite right, but I think it is hard she is elected president. I wish I were wrong.
I see the next exit movement coming from the Netherlands.

@Invisible: But it is one of the founding countries.

I don't think that matters as much as funding, which they don't provide a lot of.

Here's the EU funding for the top funding nations, in Euros of course

NATION - EU FUNDS
----------
Poland - 14.4B
Spain - 13.6B
France - 13.1B
Germany - 12.1B
Italy - 9.5B
Belgium - 6.8B
UK - 6.5B
Greece - 6.5B
Hungary - 5.3B
Portugal - 4.7B
Romania - 2.6B
Czech Republic - 3.0B
Netherlands - 2.0B

Note that there is some fuzziness to these numbers in that about a fifth of EU funding comes from other sources which may involve said nations.

@Invisible: from who did the Greeks borrow the money?
Dan509 · 26-30, M
If Le Pen wins I agree with this prediction
tynamite · 31-35, M
I can't wait until a muslim country, Turkey joins the EU. 😂
Invisible · 26-30, M
Turkey weilds its potential migrants as a weapon against Europe. It wouldn't be far-fetched for Turkey to use it as leverage to enter the EU.
tynamite · 31-35, M
@Invisible: Imagine millions of muslim migrants travelling under freedom of movement LOL 😂
Niburu · 51-55, M
Sweden or Germany may beat Turkey to it at the rate they are going
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
I have lots of problems with the EU and the single currency especially.

However, if Le Pen and her Fascist leading party are the answer then we are asking the wrong questions.

TIL nationalism == fascism
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Invisible: Read up on the history of the NF.
Invisible · 26-30, M
It's a populist nationalist party. They're basically equivalent to Trump Republicans in terms of their goals. What do you think is so awful about them?
