Do you think Obama should win an award for most average President?

I do 馃槣

Average no he dropped over 100k bombs on seven country's after winning a noble price prize

@hippyjoe1955: OK. Are you anti-war?
hippyjoe195561-69, M
I am a pragmatist that believes you should avoid war as much as possible but not fear going to war if need be.
Invisible26-30, M
@Burnley123: Correction: war-loving neocons have been calling Obama weak for not committing more to war. True conservatives do not want war, which entails a bigger budget for military purposes. We want a smaller government!
hunkalove61-69, M
Jimmy Carter was a better most average president.

LOL
Average President? To some, he may have a mediocre record, but we'll see how history looks upon it. Personally, I would describe him as a very good President. Unfortunately, he was faced with Republicans who were trapped in a bubble of ignorance and hate and who refused to give him the time of day, no less pass a piece of legislation. He created millions of jobs and got us out of a Depression. He left with a 60% approval, putting him up there with Clinton and Reagan. So yes, he was a good President, and a good decent man who handled the Office with dignity and respect, something that we're all desperately missing these days.

In the plus column there is Obamacare and the stimulus package. In the minus there is foreign policy and lack of banking reform.

Better than any Republican of course but he was a centrist for the wrong time. Its always gonna be a debate on the left as to how much Obama would have done without Republican blocking and I am of the opinion that he would have done only a bit more.
@Burnley123: Pssshhh... 馃槈

Seriously though, there's no debate as far as I'm concerned. Obama had a petulant and hostile Republican-dominated Congress sabotaging him at every turn. The Republicans, while in the throes of the worst economy in a hundred years, declared that their number one goal was, not to help bring about economic growth, but to make President Obama a failed president. And by extension make America fail. Given how supremely uncooperative Congress had been, what do you expect? Obama inherited a mess. Yet, against all odds, against a Republican party that was actively seeking to sabotage the economy, the economy grew up to +4% under Obama. Show me another president who created an economy that grew by a net +14%. I give credit to Obama for keeping us safe, getting us out of a recession/depression, repealing DADA, creating the Affordable Care Act, helping with the appeal of DOMA by urging the Supreme Court to do so, being the first sitting President to come out in support of same-sex marriage, for this and so much more. Clearly, Obama will never be judged objectively. If he were, he would certainly go down as America's most accomplished modern-day president. 馃槣

I just want him to lose that ridiculous Nobel Peace prize. He was never not in war. Not for a single second. Madness.
hippyjoe195561-69, M
It is not the wars that he found the US involved in when he took office that galls me. It is the wars he started on his own with no real objective in mind. Kinda like peeing in someones corn flakes just because you can.
Invisible26-30, M
And then he sends billions to Iran and other nations that want nothing more than to see Americans die. He couldn't be more obvious at how hard he's trying to set up Trump for a forced war.

Wow. To trigger the entire right-wing of SW into commenting on your post all you have to do is say that Obama was average. 馃槀

He was cool. Politics didn't quite live up to it but hey.
nedkelly61-69, M
Obama is not average he is a total failure
CierzoM
Rather than average he was subtle. His foreign policy was based on arming local 'rebels', instead of sending troops, the same destruction there was with Bush but no coffins going to America.
His inside policy was showing too much understanding for the victimism of minorities to broaden the social fracture.Subtle but very destructive again.
hippyjoe195561-69, M
@Burnley123: No his foreign policy was the worst of any president so far even exceeding the disaster that was Jimmy Carter.
Burnley12341-45, M
@Cierzo: Reagan was an enigma. He started the star wars program but then signed the non-proliferation treaty, for which he deserves tremendous credit.
hippyjoe195561-69, M
@Burnley123: Star wars as it was commonly known was a defensive system. In and of itself it could do no harm to an enemy.
HaHLoBravado36-40, M
Considering the record he set for his inauguration attendance, he wasn't very average at all. This could go way deeper.
hippyjoe195561-69, M
He is too far below average to be average.

@LvChris: I'd never heard of that poster before. So now I don't need to know anything else about him, either. 馃槖
The most abused and disrespected, because of the attitude of racist pieces of human excrement both in our government and among my countrymen.
