Does anyone on here believe that the 'Bowling Green Massacre' happened?

And if not, does it not bother you that the POTUS is making things up?

It is easily verifiable that it didn't happen. Of course it bothers me that POTUS and his spokespeople are making this up, but it doesn't surprise me. He's trafficked in falsehoods his entire campaign, and now during his presidency. I have no doubt that it will continue.

@Burnley123: I'm sure there will be a few who defend it because they either believe it, or they explain it away as a simple misstatement by Conway. It of course is neither.
@Burnley123: Apparently Conway's calling her critics "haters" and saying she was jumped on simply because she "misspoke one word" according to the preview of the news here. Not sure which word she's going to claim that was---"massacre", maybe ? But yes, calling us "haters" is easier then saying "I was wrong" or "Oops, I made a mistake"...

@bijouxbroussard: This is actually an art in a sense. Its playing with people's psychology and what they want to believe. Literally anything can count as plausible deniability with this tactic because you can always backtrack and hide behind 'everything has bias', 'everyone makes mistakes' and 'all politicians lie' as tropes.

Part of my thinks that this is also meant to create cynicism and sew disillusionment. For example; you have a guy on here who denied that Sandy Hook happened and sees that as an alternative fact. If there are enough fake events then some people will start to question the legitimacy of real events and it all becomes a mess where nothing at all can be verified, goes the strategy. You can then pick which of the competing narratives that you wish to believe; i.e. the one which reinforces your world view.

Objective reality does exist and we have to defend it. I can't believe I am typing those words but it is relevant. Its important that people don't get fatigued countering bullshit because the facts are on our side and this does matter.

If the rise and rise of Donald Trump had been made as a film in 1990 it would have been classed as fantasy. Now it's more suitable for the chortle section.

Edit: just spotted the autocorrect in this. Should have been horror not chortle. Nothing remotely funny.

His "advisor" is the one who said that. I rest my case that this administration (POTUS and his hand-picked friends) are beyond words. --DW

Yes it was Conway but as you say she is a Trump surrogate and this would not happen without the approval of President Bannon.
CoffeeFirst · 56-60, F
You are right. However, her mouth and brain are a loose cannon, I think!

This has been on the real news all morning. THERE WAS NO MASSACRE
Hell yes it happened!!! I have proof of it!!!!

Loretta78 · 46-50, F
I believe that the Bowling Green Massacre is an alternative fact. 😌😇
👍🏼
CoffeeFirst · 56-60, F
@SBelle: Is that what we are calling these stories these days? lol
@CoffeeFirst: Well this one is an outright lie! So I guess we call it as we see it😁
"I bet, there was very little coverage‍—‌I bet it's brand new information to people that President Obama had a six-month ban on the Iraqi refugee program after two Iraqis came here to this country, were radicalized‍—‌and they were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre. I mean, most people don't know that because it didn't get covered."

~ Kellyanne Conway

Folks are are already repeating the nonsense about Obama's "ban", so I've no doubt they've accepted the the massacre, too. And even if they can be convinced these are lies, it won't stop them from parroting the next "alternate fact" that comes out of Trump's White House.
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
There are not much good things which are coming out of Trump's White House but at least a good fantasy. 😂
abe182 · 46-50, M
I'm confused. You're saying it didn't happen and you're upset that the president said it didn't happen. Why are you upset?
peachykeen · F
@abe182: Regarding Sandy Hook, you will not find a lot of information online because you are dealing with minors -- many minors. The laws (in the US) are pretty strict. Anyone distributing information about children (w/o parents consent) are subject to law suits -- especially at Sandy Hook - where there are very wealthy families.

I apologize for the messy post and edits ....
I am not a nightime person 😉

Wow.

This is time worth spent.

I actually thought you wanted to learn something ...
Aren't I the ninny.
abe182 · 46-50, M
@peachykeen: of course I want to learn. I can also have fun. I do know what light humor is and I'm never mean spirited or cruel. If you can't handle humor then the snowflake applies.

Now can we have an adult conversation because I do wish to discuss things without blow back or putting each other in preconceived boxes.

I don't watch TV and so I don't get my news from Fox or CNN. But I do follow politics closely I have since I was a kid. I have shaken hands with Gorbachev and I was with Barbara Bush for an entire day.

I would like to know more about the live coverage of Sandy Hook because I missed it as I don't watch TV. What you said was correct about minors. But I cannot find anything anything about it. Also the massacre in Orlando I really have a hard time with that one too. 50 killed? That's 50 rounds at 100% accuracy. Assuming he used a 15 round magazine that's over six changes. Those numbers are fanciful at best.

So yeah I'm rather skeptical on most things. And before we begin I hope you know the difference between semi automatic and automatic when referring to firearms because it's obvious that the press does not. Therefore I can't trust what they say as legit when a simple Google search would have solved everything.

I thought you were open minded and willing to have a discussion 😞
This absolutely did not happen- i reserve further comment
Trump followers are not bothered one bit about Alternativefacts.
abe182 · 46-50, M
I'm still confused will someone answer me? Do you think Trump personally made it up??
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@abe182: The murders would have been reported for Newtown had they fallen under the jurisdiction of the local police. These fell under State Police jurisdiction, and so were reported under their data. The report writers knew this would create confusion, so they added notes to both the Newtown and State Police statistics to make it clear that this is how they were being reported.

If you'll look in the front of the report, you'll find the report was dedicated to the memories of those killed at Newtown.

@windinhishair: thanks for your research I will look into it. But I'm not persuaded by the emotional aspect of the story.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@abe182: That's your right and privilege. I appreciate you searching out the facts. What you do with them is totally up to you, as it should be.
