@OC. There wasn't an argument. It was an ignorant statement by Marc Lamont Hill on CNN on all places describing a group including Jim Brown, MLK3rd, Steve Harvey, Kanye West and others as "mediocre Negroes". The implication of course that Hill and his fellow travelers are "superior Negroes"?

Would you make that statement? Do you find it acceptable?

@Jackjjacksonjr: I don't consider it bigotry. I consider it a poor choice of words. Had he used the term "unqualified" or "politically irrelevant," it might have played better and maybe even been closer to the truth.

The term "negro" isn't in itself a derision. It implies a certain attitude or value system, but it may also be different in the context to two black men than it would be for, say Hill and me.

If you're asking whether any of those men is qualified to help run this country, my opinion is an unqualified no.

That ground of people are exceptional in their own fields (which isn't politics). Singling out people by race is disgraceful. Who exactly exactly is MLH to decide whose black cars should be taken away? This is a free country.
