How do you feel about repealing the ACA?

This question is more for people who voted Trump. How do you feel about Congress moving to repeal the ACA without an alternative in place? If it was such a big issue and obamacare is so bad then the alternative would have been easy to put into place right?

I remember what health insurance was like before the ACA. Insurance didn't mean Jack shit because if you got sick or hospitalized the insurance companies would drop your coverage like a baby on a hard floor.

To top that off with lifetime maximums. Over a third of the population couldn't get insurance do to "preexisting conditions "

Before getting rid of it should the replacement. The GOP and Trump DOT NOT work for the American people. They work for Wall Street thugs.
Alabama ... the pre-existing issue is solvable ... it is the state lines issue that messes with pre-existing conditions solution.

Truth is that crowd has NO IDEA what they want to replace it with and I think there is NO alternative planned except CUT CUT AND CUT which will cause mass upheaval and ruin If you CUT something as EVEN TRUMP suggested you MUST have something to fill the gap

Well Trump went to town criticizing it didn't he? And now he doesn't have much of a plan it seems.

Yes ... they are making way too much out of this repeal thing.

Having been part of a leadership team putting in place the ACA for a leading insurance company.

The repeal is easy ...

(1) End all the business restrictions immediately

(2) Discontinue the IRS/ income tangle immediately.

(3) Stop all mandates for individuals

(4) Discontinue adding new, subsidized members immediately

(5) Remove for 2018, all the non-medical treatment junk from plan, so the insurance companies can reprice.

(6) Immediately, for 2018, regionalize the exchanges.

(7) Outsource the exchange administration.

(8) Set a preliminary ceiling for medical malpractice

(9) Immediately eliminate the huge block regional hospital grants.

(10) Then, provide an affordable basic medical plan, low deductibles and build from there.

Oh ... and repeal all those crazy real estate development rules inside the law.

It is easier to repeal the whole thing ... then bring back in the few pieces we need ... and build from there
Having been part of the insurance pricing for ACA ... it is all the "crazy" in the ACA benefits that drove the price up ... raised the deductibles and actually reduced the medical treatment availability.

There are many many ACA members who have no medical facility within 50 miles of them, that will accept ACA insurance.

@questionWeaver: am sure there are pros and cons. My point is if it's so apparent, then have an alternative and then repeal. Right now no one knows.
Good point ... it is a lawyer thing ... until everything is perfectly decided and balanced ... nobody wants to talk.

The good hunch is there is an intention, along the lines of the above, to put forth a basic affordable plan, with continuity.

A lot of the conversation is more about discontinuing the current plan ... it will take 2 months to get the actuarial costs to disband the monster.

Second myth perpetrated by greed. Healthcare for ALL citizens is unaffordable. Bullshit. If we quit paying for. Illegals. Guest workers. And subsidies on pharmaceutical companies and insurance like. The 275 dollar aspirin. Or 1500 dollar injection that costs 70 bucks to make. Wed be just fine.
These people who have been shouting about repealing it have private insurance. They couldn't care less about the folks who were previously having to wait until they or their children became gravely ill and then go to Emergency, where they couldn't be turned away. Then there are people who are frankly just idiots. There was a poster here who admitted that ACA had made it possible for his family to finally have health insurance, but as a Trump supporter he's been among those clamoring to have it repealed. The extra expense has been the insurance and pharmaceutical companies taking advantage in order to regain their profits on the backs of the people and that's who the GOP should be going after.
