What do you think the recent murder of a Russian diplomat in Turkey by a fanatical islamic terrorist will induce Russia to do about terrorism?

Winston Churchill and FDR did not trust Stalin during WWII but they had a common enemy - the NAZIS. The Normandy invasion from the west would not have been successful without Russian action against the Nazis from the east. The Nazis simply could not afford a major war on two fronts simultaneously. Is it possible that acting in self interest the Russians will support the west in fighting to defeat ISIS. Russia is not safe either.
The problem is the west's attempts to fight terrorism are at best PR stunts. There is zero evidence any of them are serious about it unlike Russia. In the west and particularly in the US terrorists are just viewed as convenient foreign policy tools.

Hi PicturesOfABetterTomorrow. Until they fly passenger jets into the World Trade Centre.
If you believe that changed anything I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. Sorry but if you think that changed anything you are very naive. How do you explain for example how your government actively helped cover up who funded that attack on their own citizens or how Turkish ships selling ISIS oil were magically invisible to US bombers until the Russians publicly exposed it. Sorry but believing the US cares about stopping terror requires actively ignoring reality.

aren't they already barrel bombing in Syria? How much more do they need to do?

Hi OKWTF2. If the BBC World News Service can be believed Islamic State (also known as ISIL) is the fanatical enemy of both Iraq and Syria.

they are doing far more in Syria than most, it unfortunately props up that government who the US sort of almost wants to fall. I do not think the assassination will hurt Russia and Turkey who have managed to get together on the fight despite Turkey ambushing and shooting down their plane, what last year or earlier this year? How US policy will fit in has been a mystery ever since the red line was crossed all those years ago and chemical weapons were used.

Nothing. They will continue as usual.

Hi BigAsset . The recent murder of a Russian diplomat in Turkey shows that Russia is not safe from terrorist attack either. It would be in Russia's interest to support the western allies as it was during WWII when it had a common enemy in the Nazis. The diplomat was murdered by his own bodyguard.
fanatical Islamic......kind of redundant if you ask me.
Bomb the shit out of it?

Hi heoneyouwerewarnedabout. ISIS aka ISIL is not a conventional army. Operatives mingle with civilians and infiltrate the government and military services of their target.

That it stinks of CIA and Obama trying to get Russia into a conflict.
will999 · 70-79, M
Hello Cierzo. You really believe that? Wouldn't that make the US government and secret services at least as bad as ISIS aka ISIL?

@will999: Aren't they?
