Something fishy is going on with Jill Stein's recount.

This week, Stein has called for a recount of the votes in PA, WI, and MI. She states as her reason for starting this initiative that there is reason to believe that the voting machines may have been vulnerable to being hacked. This doesn't make any sense to me, as MI uses entirely paper ballots.

There's also a more concerning issue: over the past year and a half, she and the Green party raised a total of $3.5M for her campaign. Now, in only a few days, she has received over $4.6M in donations for a recount with a premise that doesn't make sense after a landslide Trump victory. She stated during her campaign that she didn't support Clinton and she obviously has no chance of winning herself.

What is going one here? I understand that Stein is almost certainly doing this in an attempt to have Clinton steal the elction, if she expects any results at all. Is this just an attempt to further divide the different political camps for this election? It stinks of George Soros.

It basically invalidates all the snowflakes arguments. 8 years republican will be healthy if Trump dies what he promised but like most democrats I bet he goes back on his word.
i think he will do his best. he likes to be able to say 'told you so'

Yes, it smells like the snake Soros is behind it.
This has been a great year in the political field. Soros' death would be the cherry on top of the cake.

It does actually make sense. Maybe she doesn't support Clinton, but finds Trump to be even worse. In several key states, Clinton's margin of defeat was rather small, around 1% or so. If it had been just a little different she'd have won those states instead. And also, even though MI uses paper ballots, they probably have machines that counts them.

Why are you worried if you think this wont harm Trump's presidency? Why are you worried if people exercise their constitutional rights actually?

Respecting presidents is part of constitutional rights? It's the other way around, presidents must respect the constitution AND people are free to call for a recount or protest. @satanburger:

@satanburger: she only demands respect for presidents who share her childish ideology. We must respect the office but we don't have to respect the man if we choose not to. She always twists what you say into something obscure.

Green Party fund drive / awareness raising campaign. Soon as the fund drive figures were met she doubled the need quoted. Hillary supporters being bilked out of resentment funds.

There's a theory going around that the plan was to force the recount to go past Dec. 19th, which is the deadline for EC votes. The votes might not count if that happens, but MI was already recounted and PA can no longer be recounted (past deadline), so it seems like even in the worst possible case, nothing will happen. Stein is going to pocket $3M for the green party, though. I can't help but think that this is yet another diversion for something.
