Okay cool. You might want to navigate away from things that have been conceptualized already, however. Like, how about a pack of cigarettes with dimensional doorways in it. Perhaps the Gods are junkies injecting worlds into their veins and human lifetimes are like hits to them.

@DanielChristensen: I know, and I'm doing my best. It was originally going to be about demons (and groups that side with them) attacking early modern-modern level societies. Imagine pistols, rifles and machine guns firing cartridges based on the mechanisms of a crossbow (or NERF gun, really) alongside heavily armoured knights. The "Gods" were supposed to be a more advanced human group which watches over the civilisations, with the "Astral City" being their space fortress. They 'created' the Orcs to operate as slaves, and the Elves being their less advanced remnants on the worlds, formed into so-called "Vanguard Cities" (or something like that); and it was them who supplied the humans with the technology they have. It was supposed to take place within a solar system, with about 4 habitable planets comprised of multiple continents each. All of this was supposed to fall within the realm of fantasy. There would be magic, dragons and fantasy creatures. But I'm a terrible writer, and barely better at writing rules. These notes I posted were just random thoughts about the setting and its constituent parts.
