Anyone else's dog eat like this?

My little mini Dachshund likes to separate her food into little piles outside her bowl. It's hilarious to watch. She gets a mouthful and drops it on the floor and then proceeds to separate it into piles, chicken, peas and carrots. And she never makes a mistake. Once all of it is separated into the little piles she then eats the chicken, then peas and carrots last. Is that funny and odd or what.

@Katielass: Lol, no, mine eats just everything what's given to him like a pig 😂

@kingkyrie: That's how you expect a dog to eat. lol

Yes. Mine used to do something similar.

Yea, we once kept a small schnauzer for a few days and she had a very defined eating ritual. She wouldn't eat without a bib and a separate empty plate so she could sort everything out and examine the pieces before eating. It was like she had gone to a finishing school :)

Likewise, a relative's black lab had a similar ritual.

it's the mark of a spoiled dog

Energy keeps changing the form it has from time to time. Maybe your Dachshund was someone else in its previous form.

She's a grouchy old bitch today. Snarled at me when I made her get up to go outside. She's old, so I didn't smack her nose too hard.

Watch closely and try figuring out for yourself the traits that it shows in its day to day activities.

@wickey: ok

One of my sisters dogs picks up one piece of food at a time walks like 5’ away from the bowl eats it then goes back to the bowl and I thought that was a little strange lol

that is absolutely adorable.. I have a dachshund myself and she is soooo picky with food!

Your dog has CDO.
EnigmaticGeek · 61-69, M
@Highonheels No, I meant CDO.

CDO is OCD with the letters in alphabetical order, as they should be. 🙄
Highonheels · 51-55, M
@EnigmaticGeek but then it wouldn’t be obsessive compulsive disorder it would be compulsive disorder obsessive and that wouldn’t make any sense
EnigmaticGeek · 61-69, M
@Highonheels That explains why it is a disorder.

it's sure odd for a dog
Pretty cool
