That is correct. :) I gather suggestions and as a hobby programmer for other projects I usually have a general idea of how complicated a change would be. But only the admins can check how things would fit into the existing code of SW and they also have much more experience in predicting how changes would affect the community. So I'll gladly leave the final call to their expertise.

Or 5 mins etc. sometimes I wonder whenever my friends in other timezones have been online so I can try and catch them.

In my opinion almost every bit of information should have a "Don't show" setting, just incase you don't want to show it or it doesn't apply, like gender, you might be gender fluid etc. or don't conform.
