R.I.P. Vin Scully

The great play by play voice of the Dodgers and countless World Series and playoff games passed away at 94

I’m from LA and a huge Dodgers fan. Just two days ago my father and I were discussing the commentators of the ball game between Colorado and LA. I told him that they were horrible and it’s too bad Vin Scully couldn’t call those games anymore.

Vin Scully’s name and voice will always be synonymous with LA Dodgers baseball.
Very sad to hear. He was a braodcasting legend, frequently by himself, doing both the play by play and color commentary. No one else does that.

The voice of the World Series to me. The way he called big moments — Koufax’s perfect game, Gibson’s World Series home runs (Dodgers and Tigers) was masterful. And the guy was a true mensch.

He followed the Dodgers from Brooklyn to LA and was Dodgers announcer for 67 years. A class act all the way.
