Why the shepherds and wise men [Spirituality & Religion]

We see them on the Christmas cards and read about them in the gospels . Why did God call the shepherds and wise men?

A few thoughts I think it shows the inclusive nature of God's kingdom, He'll call anyone!

1 the shepherds were local, the wise men were from a distant land. God will call people from any country, hence there are Christians in just about every country on earth

2 the shepherds were Jews, the wise men were gentiles. God will call people from any religious background.

3the shepherds were looked down on, the wise men were looked up to. God will call us whatever our status

4 the shepherds were poor, the wise men were rich. God will call us whatever our bank balance

5 it was prophetic, Jesus was to become a shepherd to His people and a king

God will call us to worship whatever our locality, religion, status or bank balance, Hes called people from slum dwellers to US presidents and ask yourself is He calling me?

Isaiah 42:6
I, the LORD, have called you for a righteous purpose, and I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and appoint you to be a covenant for the people and a light to the nations,

Love this, brother. It is so true. All are welcome. Not just a few.

Fair enough. But that's an assumption based on a translated version of a story wholly believed. In fact, the wise men are thought to be astrologers by most academics. They weren't wise, rich or kingly. Merely predictors. And that's only if you believe the accuracy of a version of a story told more than 2,000 years ago and kept alive through verbal tradition for several hundred years. Most witnesses get details wrong about facts from less than a week ago.

Still and all, your interpretation is inspired. So many of the stories of the Bible speak to exactly to this. All are invited - you only have to accept the invitation.
