Can you imagine?

Not posting what is meant to be a beautiful blog, on SW. We are your friends, we're here to check in with you, not be blasted with paragraphs of your life story. ( Also Ep offered private journals to gather your thoughts, but whatever) We want to help, but paragraphs will turn us off! Sorry, I know it hurts, but it is truth..
It's legitimate for you to feel however you feel. You don't speak for everyone though. If you see paragraphs and break out in hives, you can scroll on by.

@Mamapolo2016 I really appreciate your honesty there..that is what lacking..(;
WillaKissing · 56-60
For me; not if the paragraph is legibly written with proper grammar and thought so you can follow the story. But other wise I am with you on paragraphs.
Ladyred · 46-50, F
@WillaKissing I am only human as you..Forgive me if I was amiss..(;
WillaKissing · 56-60
@Ladyred Yes the Grammar can be corrected, and I find myself correcting mine when I make mistakes with it. When the grammar is poor and not corrected making the thought line difficult to follow! I quit trying to read the persons post.

@Ladyred By all rights you are forgiven and I never took offense! Just trying to be Whimsical!

I know when you refer to paragraphs, you are referring to things being too long.

When I think of paragraphs, though, I am thinking of how many people on here do not use them. I wish they would break things up into paragraphs. It makes things easier to read. It also looks neater.
Ladyred · 46-50, F
@SwampFlower and I want to feed it. But here as much as I love here..it is stifled..There are many stories to be told..And the world needs new writers. (;

@SwampFlower @Ladyred

I do like the long form, too. I just insist that if people do decide to write novellas on here, they use sentences with the first letter capitalized, and a space between them. And please, do not use long, run-on-sentences, and use paragraphs! It makes it so much easier to read. Try to make sure each is on a new thought or topic, too, and make it clear up front. I like when all I need to do is read the first sentence to know if I should read the paragraph, skim it, or skip it. People need to pause and proofread, too. And please, try and write sentences that make sense.

Somebody the other day posted one paragraph that filled about 20 lines of my screen. Yet it was just one sentence, and the writing was poor. I stopped reading after a few seconds. I was so annoyed I blocked him!

On EP I used to write longer pieces. Yet nobody really looks at, let alone replies, to anything I post on here, unless I include a photo (since they have to click on my post to see it).

@JoyfulSilence I sort of agree. I don't think posts need to be publication worthy here but I do stop reading if they're illegible.
MoonlightLullaby · 41-45, F
What you say is a total contradiction in itself. Deeming infinite paragraphs as invalid shows you really don't care. You're encouraging people to be less open. Can you imagine the detriment?💡
Ladyred · 46-50, F
@MoonlightLullaby That was not my intention but that is on me for not making myself clear. I can see how this statement could be taken as negative.
SteelHands · 61-69, M
Writing helps ease pain sometimes. If you read it often enough it can sometimes be a kick in the nads.
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@Ladyred Overshares of all about me. Users on the left going invisible after they get what they need. Undecideds on the fence just waiting to see.

The all time dance with mr D, the opportunists are right up ahead doin their dirty deeds.

Web logs. Yeah. People don't read so well as they think right, or write too good as they think they might.

We don't need no. It's all about the education.
Ladyred · 46-50, F
@SteelHands And imagine...could we share? True information? Could we be vulnerable enough to give to our fellow man, the experience we have gotten.

Once upon a time, we did...We didn't care about validation, Just get the information to the next generation..(;
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@Ladyred If it existed. Maybe it is becoming extinct. Like physical music. Once the rarity of something is gone the bottom drops out of its value. At some point people give up trying to produce because nobody buys and everyone sells. Then they forget how.

It's called the end of things.

I try to read long posts but can't sometimes. 🙁
@Riemann Depends on the post.....
Ladyred · 46-50, F
@Riemann It can get very overwhelming, is all I'm saying (;
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
Tweets have character limits if that's more your speed 🤷‍♀️
Ladyred · 46-50, F
@SwampFlower Thank you for that..I actually am trying to make people feel their worth..(;

to each their own. I think people should write as much or as little as they want

Some of us write here as a way to vent it's not necessarily for advice or even for other people at all. I do think it would be nice if they had a journal option. Its more difficult now that we don't have stories to post to, but I don't mind the long ones. I just don't read them if I am feeling impatient
