I am not afraid when someone tells me " I hate you"

I am more afraid when someone tells me "I like you or I love you" because isn't it so hard to like or love other being while you are selfish human. I mean whole human beings are selfish by in birth. How can some human like or love some other human genuinely. I am really really genuinely telling"
