Gossip in the sense of saying something about someone in passing, exchanging news - A tad bit, but I prefer not to talk about others.
But the malicious rumour spreading toxicity - not at all.

Mostly with my grandma. Being 88 she doesn't get about much anymore, so just tells me about all the goings on in the village

If I hear gossip and it concerns me I'll go straight to the source. It might be awkward asking but at least I'll know the truth.
