I love oatmeal. Cream of wheat too. I’ve never had grits though. What’s the difference?
@Reject grits are more grainy and most people eat it as a savory dish unlike oatmeal and cream of wheat. I think it’s more similar to cream of wheat than oatmeal grain wise although it’s a bit more thicker. I like to eat it with cheese mixed in and top with meat and an over easy egg. 🤤

@Reject Grits is cream of wheat if you made cream of wheat with corn.
@Stark that looks deeelicious

I like the smell too but the texture 🤢 boogers
I like oatmeal but it’s rare I eat it. I really have to be in the mood for it. I also like my oatmeal more loose than stiff, and adding fruit, nuts and even dried fruit is the best when it comes to oatmeal and then I mix some butter in it and top it off with cold milk to help cool it down and sometimes cinnamon.

I love calling it hot cereal to weird people out 🤭

@Stark you make it sound good when you talk about all of the stuff you add to it 😂 okay so I just wasn't doing it right 🤔 this is why I don't give up on foods
@SailorMarz yessss girl ! The best thing about oatmeal is that it’s a base/grain similar to rice or anything else like that. You spunk it up and it goes with so much.

Get creative with it. There’s plenty of recipes for toppings when it comes to oatmeal.
Treat it like a dessert if you have a sweet tooth.

Oatmeal sucks so much. It's like eating paper mache. I seriously can't wrap my head around how people can eat outside of extreme poverty and life threatening situations. It's a mug of hot lumpy sadness and misery.

Farina and grits are much better.

@MethDozer
It's a mug of hot lumpy sadness and misery.
when emotions go from being abstract to tangible (but not necessarily edible.)

I have never tried it except oatmeal cookies which are pretty good.

This might be a stupid reason to not bother trying something but the boring packaging just never grabbed my interest.

@CestManan oh, it makes fire ass cookies

MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
thats very random lol

Stop eating it dry and I think you will find it more to your liking.
try it with maple syrup...😋

Mmm... oatmeal. I miss oatmeal.

Honestly, though, oatmeal is mostly just a conduit to get butter, sugar and cinnamon in your mouth.

I like a bowl of oatmeal. I am less enthusiastic about oatmeal as part of dessert, as in oatmeal cookies.

It's been a long time since I have had grits, as they are not common here in the north, but I do like them.

I fancy up oatmeal if I eat it and it tastes a lot better than just plain oatmeal. I also make a brown rice porridge and add some goodies to it.

I'm a northerner, I like my daily oatmeal.

I like oatmeal every now and then. A little to the thinner side with either bagel or toast spread with butter and honey...

My favored is cream of wheat though. That's the good stuff.
Cook blueberries in it and aadd milk and honey. You'll like it.
