Why are people so afraid to help other people because of what might happen?

"I'm not trained to deal with that." "That's been tried before and it didn't work because of x." Just excuses. Just show up and show that you care. The rest will work itself out. Being present and trying is what really matters.

I’ve always been the one to make exceptions, accommodate others schedules, put up with people that I shouldn’t have and keep my mouth shut. In the past few years I’ve determined my own worth and decided that I’m better than that. I’m very cautious of who I help now and why, it’s unfortunate but it is what it is.
