Sometimes I try to look at humans as domestic monkeys from part of the big animal planet

Humans have a choice. We can see ourselves as simply mortal flesh and bone or something far beyond the ordinary with capacities within our beings that are almost frightening to imagine.

I see the animals looking at us and wonder if they can even hold within their tiny brain an ability to understand the vast complexity of our simplest written works, hear the simplest musical sounds and realize that it's not just a random thing present in their world, or that all these great cities, roads and bridges are there because of the towering accomplishments of the human race.

And yet we are minuscule in the face of the apparently nearly infinitly huge universe of time and space.

It's a trip alright.
