Youtube and their youtube shorts

I'm really really not a fan of this video format YT has adopted recently. On all of my videos shorter than a minute, YT automatically applies it to the video. And retroactively to most of my older ones.

Is there a way to reverse this and prevent it from happening? Just wondering, hoping there is a way.
